Call me old fashioned but the thought of fishing games immediately shouts boring to me. However, working on Fish Island brought me around and changed my perspective of fishing games. The game has anime-inspired characters and beautiful graphics and gameplay is quite easy to grasp but difficult to master.
To catch the fish, one must time their taps properly and should you be given the opportunity of a BOSS catch, you’ll need fast reflexes and good rhythm to lure it right in. It’s quite addictive as there are many equipments, skins and fishes to catch…even whales and sharks!
In this project, I worked closely with operations & product team to plan and design the creative banners for community events, in-game events, promotions and contests. The graphics were fantastic to work with and I really enjoyed the freedom to think out-of-the-box in order to design effective and eye-catching banners.
